The Challenge
In 2015, personal audio was everywhere. Smartphones, MP3 players, and tablets were central to daily life. People shared music on the go, but most accessories felt generic, poorly made, and uninspired.
We saw a chance to create something better:
Compact and strong accessories people would want to carry
Fun, friendly designs that didn’t resemble technical gear
Reliable audio quality that would last over time
DUODIO started with a simple question: How can we make everyday audio tools feel more personal, trustworthy, and enjoyable to use?
Our Approach
A Y splitter was more than just a connector; it represented a moment of sharing. Two friends could listen to the same playlist, watch a movie on a tablet, or share headphones during a long flight. We wanted the design to feel friendly and inviting, not cold and industrial.
Design Focus
Rounded, playful shapes that made the splitter look like a small character instead of a piece of hardware.
A soft-touch finish for comfortable handling.
Compact dimensions that allowed it to fit easily into a pocket, wallet, or pencil case.
Reinforced joints to stop cables from fraying, one of the most common problems back then.
Material and Build Quality
We experimented with various materials to find the right mix of flexibility and strength. The final choice provided:
Better strain relief.
Less cracking around ports.
Longer lasting quality compared to similar products available at that time.
DUODIO aimed to compete not by adding features, but by improving the feel, finish, and reliability of a daily item that many people overlooked.
Testing, Certification & Packaging
After finalizing the prototypes, we conducted audio signal tests, bend and strain tests, and compatibility checks with a wide variety of headphones and devices.
We designed packaging to be clean, compact, and welcoming, reflecting the product's personality.
We managed everything from design to certification and mass production in-house to maintain consistency and quality.
The Result
DUODIO became a small but memorable collection of audio accessories that balanced function and personality. DUODIO was more than just another set of cables; it provided a friendlier, more thoughtful approach to everyday audio tools. By focusing on details that other brands missed, we created accessories that felt good in the hand, lasted a long time, and made sharing music a bit more enjoyable.
